Bajaj Pulsar Evolution – It’s Been Two Decades!

Yes here’s the one bike you all have been waiting for The Bajaj Pulsar. The bike has cult fans in India same as a Royal Enfield Classic or bullet from the time of it’s launch. More than anything the ads of the bike looks astounding with all stunts, if you have noticed in the past. The bike is running cool for almost two decades, Let’s see how Bajaj Pulsar evolved through these years.

Bajaj Pulsar The Beginning – 2001

Pulsar begun its journey in India as a 150cc bike, the bike was introduced after the Hero Honda CBZ saw a big hit. The bike got an good response from the people and also credited as the meanest machine in the 150cc segment.

The 150cc engine produced 13hp of power mated to a 5-speed gearbox and had features like side stand indicator, front disc brakes, longer wheelbase and much more. It is to note that 1500 Pulsars were ordered by the Indian army giving more power.

Later on the Bajaj also launched a 180cc Pulsar making 15hp of power and came with electric start as a standard which was also mated to a 5-speed gerabox.

Bajaj Pulsar – 2003

The big change happened in the 2003 Bajaj pulsar is the introduction to the new iconic head-lamps which is followed till date. Further the bike also came equipped with the DTSi technology which made the Pulsar even more fuel efficient.

Bajaj Pulsar – 2005

Bajaj took efforts to make the bike look better with every update. In 2005 the Pulsar 180 got an all black colour scheme where alloys are also painted in black, whereas the Pulsar 150 came with grey alloys differentiating each other. And also the Pulsar was introduced with the stylish twin-led strip tail lights.

Bajaj Pulsar 200-Fi and 220-Fi – 2007

The more powerful Pulsars were launched in 2007, the 200-Fi was similar to that of old Pulsars but featured a 200cc enginge making 18hp of power.

On the other had the Pulsar 220-Fi was a new member in the Pulsar line-up it sported  clip-on handlebars, projector headlamps, split seats and much more. The Pulsar’s 220cc engine produced 19hp of power.

Bajaj Pulsar 135 LS – 2009

In 2009 Bajaj introduced a newly designed bike which was aesthetically appealing attracting the younger customers. It had the looks of a sport bike and was a good bike for daily commutes as well, while the 135cc engine produced about 13.5hp of power.

Bajaj Pulsar 200NS – 2012-Till Date

The famous Bajaj 200NS was introduced in 2012, the bike came after the partnership of the Bajaj and the KTM. The 200cc engine produced about 23hp of power and 18Nm of torque making it the powerful pulsar’s of all time. Other than that the bike featured a mono-shock suspension and styling cues from KTM.

Pulsar Adventure Sport (AS) – 2015

The Pulsar Adventure Sport is same as the 200NS but with a bigger front facia made the bike look similar to that of 220F and mechanically the bike had no change.

Pulsar Race Sport (RS)200 – 2015-Till Date

The legendary Pulsar was launched as RS which remade the name of Bajaj in India. The bike was a full faired edition of the 200NS, the bike was beefy and aesthetically appealing with the new design cues which attracted a lot of customers.

The bike comes powered by a 2Spark 4 Valve 200cc BSVI DTS-i FI Engine, Liquid Cooled engine produces more than 24.5hp of power. Other than that the bike also gets dual-channel abs, Nitrox mono shock at the rear and much more.
