2021 BMW S 1000 R Launched At Rs. 17.90 Lakhs

BMW Motorrad launched the 2021 S 1000 R which is priced from Rs. 17.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, India).

As always the naked sports bike looks absolutely stunning and is now available in three variants Standard, Pro and Pro M Sport.

Coming to India as a completely built-up unit (CBU) the bike looks sharp and beefed up. The 2021 S 1000 R features the Flex Frame same as its sibling S 1000 RR is now lighter than before.

Features of the bike include a new LED headlamp with a LED DRL, 6.5-inch TFT instrument cluster along with smartphone connectivity.

New-gen S 1000 R has got 4 riding modes namely Rain, Road, Dynamic and Dynamic Pro.

The 2021 BMW S 1000 R continues to be powered by the 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that now makes 165 bhp at 11,000 rpm and has a peak torque of 114 Nm at 9,250 rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Also the engine speed has been reduced by 8 per cent which improves the fuel efficiency by 8 per cent.

The motorcycle now weighs 199kg (kerb) which is 6.5 kg lesser compared to its predecessor. Suspension duty is carried by 45 mm upside down forks up front and monoshock at the rear. Whereas braking is done by twin 320 mm disc brakes with radial 4-piston fixed callipers (front) and a single 220 mm disc with a single piston floating calliper (rear).

Talking about safety the 2021 S 1000 R comes with dynamic traction control, ABS Pro, wheelie control along with other features.
