News was scrolling over internet that the Maruti is working on a 5-door Jimny for the Indian Market over these months. Now it is said that the car is expected to be launched by July 2022.
At present, Maruti Suzuki is producing 1,200-1,500 units of the 3-door Jimny per month, and are only for exports. While the carmaker has not yet decided selling this version in India.
The Jimny 5-door plans have been finalised and a request for quote (RFQ) will be sent to suppliers within this month, and the 5-door variant, will be produced in India and sold in the country over their showrooms
Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door will come powered by a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine same as Jimny 5-Door, that produces 103 HP and 138 Nm of torque.
