The all new Mercedes Benz S-class luxury packed sedan has finally launched in India, priced from Rs. 2.17 crore (ex-showroom, India). Currently Mercedes offers the launch edition which is based on the AMG Line trim.
The first 150 units of the launch edition has been imported as a completely built-up unit (CBU) and Mercedes said that half of the units has been sold-out already.

New Mercedes Benz S-class – Exterior
From the outside the luxury sedan now looks even tasteful featuring the new ‘Digital Light’ LED headlights, LED tail-lights, a new chrome grille with three horizontal blades, new front bumper, flush door handles and much more. Also the Launch Edition which is currently on sale gets the AMG trim elements making it more sharper and aggressive.
Exterior colour choices of the new S-class includes Anthracite Blue, Designo Diamond White, Emerald Green, Onyx Black and Rubellite Red.
New Mercedes Benz S-class – Interior & Features
On the inside Mercedes has purely defined luxury, starting from a new 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. All the displays on the new S-class runs on the second-generation MBUX system and has got 320GB of storage and 16GB of RAM.
The features include fingerprint, facial and voice recognition, 64-colour active ambient lighting, Burmester 4D surround sound system with 30 loudspeakers and 8 resonators, massage seats (both front and rear) and what not.
The seventh generetion S-class’s seats are made out of Nappa leather, while interior of the car can be had in Macchiato beige, Magma grey or Sienna Brown/Black.
New Mercedes Benz S-class – Engine
The new Mercedes Benz S-class is available in two engine options, the S 400d which comes with a 2.9 litre in-line six-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 330hp and 700Nm of torque. Whereas the S 450’s turbocharged 3.0 litre in-line six-cylinder engine produces 367hp and 500Nm of torque. Both the variants get a 9-speed automatic gearbox and Mercedes 4Matic all-wheel drive system.
Another interesting feature is the rear-axle steering that turns the rear wheels by upto 4.5 degrees.
